T-mobile update:

What d'you know - they have indeed reverted to giving free upgrade phones. I know this because my wife's phone is still with them and a lovely lady from Glasgow has just sent her one. Unfortunately I'm an impatient so and so and 02 now have my business and I have a shiny (and very lovely) iPhone. Perhaps that's the best resolution all round as I'm certainly not liking what I'm seeing of the gPhone anyway and T-mobile clearly didn't want my business anyway - although the reversion back to the old way of processing upgrades and rewarding your loyalty might indicate perhaps they might have underestimated how that policy change might have gone down just a little?

Nah - you're right - probably intentional to suspend it for a month or two to test the water. Hope they found the testing instructional.
